About The Fighting Italian

The Fighting Italian is a vintage homestyle Italian restaurant, serving Italian sliders, homemade desserts. Italian cream sodas and iced espresso with tiramisu cream, only available for pickup and delivery. Its specialties include meatball sliders, chicken parm sliders and shrimp parm sliders served on homemade Sicilian brioche buns. Everything is homemade, and the restaurant pays tribute to the fighting spirit of Italian-Americans who were legendary boxers and also served in the U.S. military during WWII.

Italian restaurants, sub shops, calzone counters and Italian delis sit next to the pizzerias on this site because most of them bake pizza too, often from the same dough. Full-service Italian restaurants take reservations for dinner, add a tip line for table service (15-20% is customary) and usually run a cheaper lunch menu on weekdays. Sub and sandwich shops are counter-order and quick, with sizes by the inch or in half and whole lengths. Calzones and strombolis are priced like a medium pizza and are large enough to share. Italian delis and bakeries sell by weight and by the piece, and many close mid-afternoon.

Huntington Beach is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Huntington Beach follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Killer meatball sliders and fried ravioli.

Heard they were giving away free food, so I called in an order and sure enough it was real. I got a meatball slider combo that came with the slider, fries, and an Italian soda. Since it was free I added a side of fried raviolis, which were killer, and a cannoli. Delicious. The guy told me they give out free food one hour every week you just have to follow them on Instagram. Cool concept I'll be back.

This place is the real deal. Fresh spin on Italian sliders. I got the chicken parm and shrimp parm sliders with the cherry Italian soda. Honestly one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Soft bread and cheesy chicken/shrimp. 10/10 in terms of flavor and freshness. I got it with the red sauce but will be going back for the pink sauce. Highly recommend.

The Fighting Italian absolutely nailed it. Such a cool new takeout concept, it’s classic Italian food with an American twist. I had the chicken Parmesan slider with the red sauce, and it was easily one of the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked, crispy, flavorful, and paired with their thin potato wedge style fries with Parmesan and garlic, which were incredible. I also tried the meatball slider, and the meatball was seriously one of the best I’ve ever had. You can tell they’re putting a lot of care into the food here. The cream soda and cherry soda were both great, and somehow dessert was just as good. The cannoli was excellent, and the tiramisu bomboloni was next level. Everything I tried was outstanding. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to and working my way through the rest of the menu. Highly recommend!
